Privacy Policy for Browserfly

Effective Date: July 29, 2025

Thank you for using Browserfly ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in relation to our browser extension (the "Service"). Your privacy is critically important to us, and our policy is designed to be as transparent as possible.

By installing and using our Service, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. The Core Principle: We Don't Store Your Data

Our fundamental privacy principle is that we do not store your web activity or the content you process. The Service is designed to process information in real-time to execute your commands and then discard it. We do not want your data.

2. Information We Process to Provide the Service

To make the AI Agent function, the Service needs to process certain information temporarily. This information is processed ephemerally and is not stored or logged on our servers.

  • User Commands: The natural language instructions you type to direct the AI Agent. For example, "summarize this page" or "click the 'Next' button."
  • Web Page Content and URLs: To execute your commands, the extension must access the content (text and HTML structure) and the URL of the active web page or the pages you direct it to. This is necessary for tasks like summarization, answering questions about the content, or finding a specific element to click.
  • Selected Page Elements: When you use the selection tool, the content of the element you select is processed to fulfill your request (e.g., to answer a question about it or translate it).

3. How Information is Processed (Third-Party AI Services)

This is the most important section of our policy.

To provide advanced AI capabilities like summarization, question-answering, and complex instruction understanding, your commands and the relevant web page content are sent for processing to third-party AI service providers (e.g., OpenAI, Google, Anthropic).

  • This data is transmitted securely via HTTPS.
  • The data is used by the third-party provider solely to generate a response to your command and is governed by that provider's privacy policy.
  • We do not store this data on any servers we control. The information is sent, processed, and the result is returned to you. We do not maintain a history of your queries or the content you have processed.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of the major AI service providers to understand how they handle data.

4. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not actively collect, store, or track any Personal Identifiable Information (PII) such as your name, email address, IP address, or Browse history across sites you do not explicitly direct the extension to act on. The Service only "sees" the pages and content you command it to interact with, for the duration of that interaction.

5. Data Security

We are committed to protecting your information. All communication between the extension and third-party AI services is encrypted using industry-standard protocols like TLS/SSL (HTTPS).

6. Your Choices and Control

You have full control over the extension's access to information.

  • The Service only activates and processes content when you explicitly invoke it with a command.
  • You can uninstall the extension at any time through your browser's extension management page to permanently revoke its permissions and cease all its functions.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the policy within the extension's description on the Chrome Web Store. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
